It is never too late to reinvent yourself! Continuing your education will help you to tap into new potential. Work toward self improvement or a better career, by obtaining your high school credentials. It is important to know that in a job market that is continually changing, having your high school diploma can increase your full time lifetime earnings by $480,000 or more.
General Education Development (GED)
Successful completion of the GED test is considered academically equivalent to a high school diploma. Instructional support is given to students in the four areas of the GED High School Equivalency test. If you register to become our student and pay a small tuition fee all of your official GED tests are FREE!
English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes

Our program provides English instruction to adult non-native English speaking residents, living and/or working in Virginia with a focus on college and career readiness skills. We offer classes and several learning options to meet your needs, including morning and evening classes, as well as distance education opportunities.
National External Diploma Program (NEDP)
The National External Diploma Program (NEDP) allows adults to demonstrate their high school-level skills by applying their life experiences in real-life situations. In Virginia, NEDP is available to adults 18 years old or older. New candidates may begin the program at any point in the year.
Citizenship Classes
Adult Education offers free Citizenship classes to prepare eligible legal permanent residents for the United States naturalization process. Students may take citizenship classes more than once, if necessary. All citizenship classes and materials are free. Call to pre-register for classes.
ACT National Career Readiness Certificate
ACT® WorkKeys® National Career Readiness Certificate® (NCRC®) helps students with their life after high school- no matter what the career path. Employers in our community are looking for this certificate from job candidates, whether they come directly from high school, work-based learning programs, or through post-secondary paths, because it is a valid predictor of job performance.
